Changing Interior This is a photograph of the interior as it was shortly after we took possession in January 2001. Note the beautiful blue-green shag rug and the use of a simple sheet of asbestos under the fireplace.  This is a view of the interior taken in 2008. The old cast iron fireplace has been replaced by a new, energy efficient unit. Size has gone down; heat output has gone up, ... and our insurance company is happy. Concrete garden paving squares now form a proper base for the fireplace. The shag rug is gone, with only a faint remnant left in the upper bedrooms. A new imitation wood floor has been installed. The flat field stones now have proper grouting; they're not just glued to the wall. We have upgraded our TV and put some art on the walls. And the walls have now been painted a lighter color.
